Where the colors come from

Each color in the library is a reading of a real swatch, or an estimate from a color code. These are the sources, with the licenses some of them come with.

Readings of real swatches

685 colors are readings of real swatches, taken with a colorimeter by FilamentColors.xyz and shared under CC BY 4.0. We turn each reading into the base color that matches it in the filament’s finish.

The makers’ own codes

653 colors are estimated from codes their makers publish: Bambu Studio’s color codes, Bambu Lab’s swatches, Prusa’s HueForge codes, Polymaker’s color sheet, SUNLU’s color codes and Elegoo’s swatch codes. We turn each code into a base color the same way.

The Open Filament Database

194 colors are estimated from its color codes for 3DJake and Creality filaments, at commit a52fb9db. We turn each code into a base color the same way. Its repository.

OpenPrintTag’s database

311 colors are estimated from its color codes for Duramic 3D and eSUN filaments, at commit 5e3ebef6. We turn each code into a base color the same way. Its repository.
